The study and appreciation of the life, works and times of Arnold Bennett

Heritage Open Day 14 September

Article Written:

On Tuesday 14 September, as part of the Heritage Open Day events with a theme of ‘Edible England‘ thirty member and friends assembled at the Market Cafe in Burslem at 12 noon. After a refreshing cup of coffee/tea, Ray Johnson, Ginny Johnson and Erika Alcock read extracts with a food related theme from AB’s novels. They included, The Old Wives’ Tale, Clayhanger, Helen With The High Hand and the Arnold Bennett Omelette. A short walk to the Upper Crust Cafe in Brickhouse Street, and we were welcomed with their version of the Omelette with salad. Our thanks to both Cafes for their support and everyone who attended.
